Thanks for Giving

There are many people in the Goldsboro Community that give freely of their time and resources to support and help people in our community. They give, day in and day out, often without thanks and without expectation of recognition.

What they do often goes unnoticed and without need of thanks because of who they are.

We will never be able to thank all of them here, but we can each make the effort and take the time to thank them personally.

Here we take the opportunity to thank some of them and appreciate what they have do
for all of us.

GOLDSBORO CLEANUP 2019

Thanks for all the volunteers for cleaning up our community!
Thanks CAGB for sponsoring the event.

The Civic Association of Goldsboro Borough (CAGB) and volunteers participated in the 2019 Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania on May 18 of this year. Our group sponsored the Goldsboro Borough Community Cleanup event, which focused on cleaning up litter and trash along our roadsides, sidewalks, streams, and parks throughout the borough. Our volunteers worked hard to pick up any debris or loose trash from every park and street in the borough, along with the creek banks. Without our volunteers' tireless efforts and willingness to commit their time, this project would not have been possible. Thank you to all who participated and helped to improve our community!

THANK YOU
GOLDSBORO EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TEAM

A special thank you to the people who participated in our TMI Nuclear Drill in May 2019.  They include Rhett Baker, Bob Charles, Bob Kinney, Brian Komschlies, Pat Mullins, Craig Mullins, Lee Fishel, Doug Smith, Beth Geesey, Robin Gross and Scott Gross.  This year the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) evaluated our response to the drill.  We have people in our community, and outside it, who devoted considerable hours preparing and participating in the drill.  You can sleep a bit more soundly knowing that you are living among people, including some elected officials, who are concerned enough about public safety to participate in the training and exercises.  Let them know, when you see them in the community, that you appreciate their concern for us.

SPRING CLEANING of our streets in Goldsboro

Goldsboro looks a little like a ghost town with vehicles off the streets.
THANKS TO ALL of our residents who moved their vehicles from the streets!

It is more than fitting that the first entry to "Thanks for Giving" includes so many in the Goldsboro Community.

It may seem like a small thing to move your car from the street for a day or two, but when so many residents do it, it has a BIG impact
.

Spring cleaning of our streets in Goldsboro is underway. Open streets allow us to do a thorough cleaning and it helps to reduce our communities cost... your cost.
Collin prepares for the street sweeper vehicle by hand sweeping the edges and corners of the street. "I like helping out the town." he said, as he brushed the debris into piles. (photo right) He is a volunteer.
